Visit Kames and Tighnabruich from Tarbert
Tighnabruich and Kames are just a short car Journey from the Portavadie Ferry or just 30 minutes by bike. Sitting on the north shore of the Kyles of Bute, both villages catch the sun all day with beautiful views across the Kyles to the island of Bute.
There are many walks in the area both short and long. One of the most stunning for the Kyles coastal scenery is this part of the Cowal Way. It is well worth taking some time to walk part of the Cowal way before venturing back to your accommodation at the end of your day.
For those that like golf there is a great course at the Kyles of Bute Golf Club.
Fishing on the Kyles of Bute can be from the shore or with a boat trip on the converted Motor Fishing Vessel Morag which operates from the Pier at Tighnabruich. Apart from the obvious fun playing golf, the views across over the Kyles are spectacular.
If you have cycled from Portavadie then why not continue the day with an almost flat cycle run on a firm surface the entire length of the shore of the North and West Kyles of Bute. Perhaps take a picnic to rest and enjoy this great wee place.
